Tenets of Faith

Tenets of Faith

The Scriptures, both Old and New testaments, are the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)

The One True God has revealed Himself as eternally existent. (Psalm 90:2)

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ…..He is the Eternal Son of God.

  • He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23)
  • His life was sinless (Hebrews 7:26)
  • He performed miracles (Acts 2:22)
  • His death on the Cross was substitutionary (1 Corinthians15:3)
  • He was bodily raised from the dead (Matthew 28:6)
  • He is exalted at the right hand of God (Acts 1:9.11)
  • Man was created good and upright but by voluntary transgression fell. As a result there is spiritual and physical death – separation from God. (Genesis 2:14)

Salvation of man is by grace through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross and is appropriated by faith which is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8)

We believe in baptism in water by immersion. (Romans 6:4)

We believe the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, the bread and the fruit of the vine, is a memorial of His suffering. (1 Corinthians 11:26)

We believe the baptism with the Holy Spirit is subsequent to conversion. (Acts 1:8)

We believe in the supernatural manifestation of the Holy Spirit as an integral part of the believer’s walk and church life. (1 Corinthians 12:7)

We believe that sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God. (Romans 12:1-2)

We believe the church is the Body of Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

We believe that a divinely called and spiritually ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the three-fold purpose:

  • Worship of God. (John 4:23-24)
  • Building a body of saints who are being perfected in the image of His Son. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
  • Evangelisation of the World. (Mark 16:15-20)
  • We believe in the ministry of divine healing as outlined in James 5:14-16 and Mark 16:18.

We believe the blessed hope is the resurrection of those who are dead in Christ and those who are alive and remain to dwell with Him forever.

  • The pre-tribulation Rapture of the church. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17)
  • The millennial reign of Christ. (Matthew 25:46)
  • The final judgement. (Matthew 25:46)
  • The new heavens and the new earth. (2 Peter 3:13)
