Mark 14:66–72: “Before the Rooster Crowed”
While Jesus stands firm before the council above, another trial is unfolding below — not in a courtroom, but by a fire in the courtyard.
This is the moment Peter swore he would never face… and then did.
In this study we will walk through Peter’s three denials — not to condemn him, but to recognise ourselves in him. Fear, confusion, pressure, self-preservation — all collide in the cold light of dawn.
We will reflect on:
- How courage can crumble under quiet pressure
- Why Peter’s fall happens so quickly and so completely
- The contrast between Jesus’ faithfulness and Peter’s fear
- The look of Jesus — and the sound of the rooster
- Where repentance begins, and how grace is already waiting
“And when he thought about it, he wept.” (Mark 14:72)
This is a study for anyone who has promised more than they delivered…
for anyone who has failed the Lord they love…
and for anyone who needs to know that failure is not the end of the story.
All warmly welcome to join us for an evening in the Word
